Mentoring EP provides a pathway for communities to support the principles of Mentoring for the benefit of young people on Eyre Peninsula.
Mentoring EP’s key objective is to support new and existing mentoring programs and collaborative community partnerships that assists young people in the areas of:
- Engaging with education and training
- Career guidance
- Transition from primary to secondary school and into the workplace or further study
- Support with social/living skills
We know that young people who leave school early limit their changes of reaching their full potential. We also know that a significant adult who is neither their parent nor teacher can have a great impact on a young person. Mentors do help young people to reach their full potential and to be aware of future responsibilities.
Mentoring EP’s Patron is Member for Flinders, Mr Peter Treloar MP:
“The value of an ongoing mentoring program is enormous, to both young people and our communities here on the Eyre Peninsula.
It supports and encourages young people towards their goals, whilst ensuring the continued success of our industries and communities.”
How can I get involved with Mentoring EP?
Become a mentor
The program is always looking for suitable, community minded people to partner with our youth. Experience, communication skills and a genuine desire to help are more important than age or position.
Become a sponsor/partner
Mentoring EP is only as effective as its community relationships. We welcome any commitment to Mentoring EP via financial or in-kind assistance.
